Finding Culture

Paignton is well-known for its sandy beach and for the nearby Preston and Goodrington Sands with their pretty beach huts.

But now that the year has turned and it’s not exactly beach weather, what else is there to do in Paignton when it’s too cold to sit on the sand?

If you like culture, you’ll find plenty of places to explore.

Torquay has an excellent museum with a number of collections still open this year. It even has its own gallery purely dedicated to local author, Agatha Christie!

Follow the Sculpture Trail at Cockington and in Brixham you can discover local artists at their art studios.

Find more events to visit at English Riviera.

Stay for a few days, or even a week. At Bay Cottage the bedrooms are clean and cosy and the freshly-cooked breakfasts are delicious!

It’s easy to get around in Torbay, simply catch the train or bus (or even the ferry on a calm day!) to where you want to go. Don’t bring the car! Parking can be a problem!
